Museum Vauban Citadel - The 1st Museum hôtel in France
Vauban Citadel overlooks the harbour and represents 1000 years of history. Today, after 40 years of careful restoration, it spreads over 10 hectares and includes bastions, curtain walls, casements, powder magazines and arsenals. Overlooking the harbor and the village of Palaces, it is a landmark sentinel on the promontory, washed by the sea.
In July and August you can enjoy evening performances of the recreation of the old Arsenal at Belle-Ile-en-Mer festival "Lyrique-en-Mer". Vauban Citadel found its calling in hospitality, but today the "barracks" have become beautiful rooms with views over the sea while the "prisons" are paved in "gold"!!... because they cultivate the simple happiness of living well ...
